Michigan in Motion on National Employee Health and Fitness Day

Employers and employees from across the state can celebrate the 19th annual National Employee Health and Fitness Day to promote physical activity and well being on May 21, 2008.

NEHFD can serve as a starting point for initiating a healthy workplace or a celebration of an existing effort.  Promote physical activity on May 21 through ideas as simple as providing fresh fruit or bottled water, or hosting a fitness walk.  Support physical activity year-round by encouraging employees to take the stairs or hand-deliver messages.  Click here for a list of NEHFD ideas, and ways to build a healthy worksite all year, or click on the "Celebrate NEHFD" link below.

You can register your worksite for National Employee Health and Fitness Day in Michigan by clicking here.  Registration is quick, easy and free.  Once registered, your worksite will be recognized on this website!

The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports will be hosting a one-mile walk at the State Capitol to celebrate NEHFD. To learn more about the event, click here.
