The Governor's Fitness Awards: One in a Million


The Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness, Health and Sports will award extraordinary Michigan residents who have made a commitment to physical activity at The Governor’s Fitness Awards: One in a Million event. The fundraiser will be held in November and will honor outstanding individuals and one organization for advocating and role-modeling healthy, physically active lifestyles.

Four to six inspirational athletes will receive the Charles T. Kuntzleman Award for their commitment to physical activity, despite the many challenges that they face. One individual will receive the Vern Seefeldt Lifetime Achievement Award for making landmark contributions to the health of Michigan residents through research, teaching, professional practice, or volunteer involvement related to physical activity. Other awards presented include the Achievement Award for Organizations, the Achievement Award for Public Officials and the President’s Award which will be presented to a Governor’s Council board member in honor of their superior commitment to the mission of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness.
