Using the preferred browser

If you are using a Windows computer, animations are best viewed using the Internet Explorer browser.

If you are using a Macintosh computer, animations are best viewed using the Safari browser.

Other browsers will display the disc content, but it may be jumbled or otherwise difficult to work with.

If using Windows:

1. Insert the CD into the CD drive of your computer.

2. Wait several moments for the CD to load.

If a box appears onscreen to ask you what you want to do with the contents of the CD, click the Cancel button.

3. Double-click My Computer from the desktop (or select My Computer from the Start menu).

4. RIGHT-click the icon for the CD drive, then left-click Open from the pop-up menu.

The contents of the CD will display. (Note that the drive letter for the CD drive may be different on your computer than that shown in the illustration.)

5. Double-click the index.htm file.

The animation index page will launch in a web browser.

6. Check the title bar of the web browser. If it reads Internet Explorer, then you can skip the rest of these instructions and proceed to view the animations.

7. If the title bar of the browser reads something other than Internet Explorer (Firefox, Opera, Netscape, etc.), close that window.

You will return to the My Computer window.

8. RIGHT-click the index.htm file, then left-click Open with from the pop up menu.

A side menu will appear and should include Internet Explorer as one of the choices.*

9. Left-click Internet Explorer.

The index page will launch in the Internet Explorer browser.

*Note: The Internet Explorer browser comes standard on Windows computers. If it is not present in the pop-up menu, check the setup CD that came with the computer or consult with your IT tech support for help in re-installing it.

If using Mac:

1. Insert the CD into the CD drive of your computer.

2. Wait several moments for the CD to load.

3. Click Finder from the dock to open a new Finder window.

4. In the left pane of the Finder window, click the icon for the CD drive.

The contents of the CD will display in the right pane of the Finder window.

5. Double-click the index.htm file.

The animation index page will launch in a web browser.

6. Check the title bar of the web browser. If it reads Safari, then you can skip the rest of these instructions and proceed to view the animations.

7. If the title bar of the browser reads something other than Safari (Firefox, Opera, Netscape, etc.), close that window.

You will return to the Finder window.

8. Hold down the CTRL key on your keyboard, then click the index.htm file.

A pop-up menu should appear.

9. Release the CTRL key, then click Open with from the pop-up menu.

A side menu will appear and should include Safari as one of the choices.*

10. Click Safari from the pop up menu.

The index page will launch in the Safari browser.

*Note: The Safari browser comes standard on Macintosh computers. If it is not present in the pop-up menu, check the setup CD that came with the computer or consult with your IT tech support for help in re-installing it.
